I have thought this for along time. What is his obsession with Tayshaun Prince? Prince is a solid player, but would you take him over Carmelo Anthony? That's the reason he drafted Darko Milicic instead of Anthony was due to his faith in Prince. So Prince could have been Carmelo Anthony's BACKUP!!!! Now, Dumars won't trace Prince for Carlos Boozer!!!!! I mean seriously, Carmelo Anthong could be playing with Carlos Boozer right now but Dumars is well on his way to the dismantling of his team.
Ainge thinks Celtics are better than 2008 Squad.
Celtics president Danny Ainge has said he believes the current team is better than the 2008 championship squad, according to the Boston Globe. He added the team expects and wants Glen "Big Baby" Davis to return.
It is not only the addition of Wallace and the depth up front, but also the improved play of Kendrick Perkins and Rajon Rondo which makes Danny so excited about the team's chances this year.
In regards to new additions no trades are imminent or being discussed and the situation regarding Gabe Pruitt and Lester Hudson is up in the air.
Ainge then said there are a number of free agents left on the market and he will look for free agents that will improve the team.
Also, Jamario Moon, a solid defensive small forward, wants to join the Boston Celtics, according to Dave D'Allessandro of the Newark Star Ledger. I would love to see this guy in green,
Meanwhile, the Lakers, the defending champions, appear to be adding less consistency, and not more to their roster. The team has a lot of faith in Artest to bring them another championship. But Lamar Odom, a key to last year's success, does not see eye-to-eye with Lakers management and their offer has been withdrawn from the table.
The only team that has the kind of money to give him what he wants is Portland. Depending on what happens with Paul Milsap, a forward who they have signed to an offer sheet from Utah, they could sign Odom is the Jazz match the offer. This issues will be resolved by the end of the week, when Utah will decide if they want ot match the offer or not. The Utah Jazz organization has stated they want to, but may not have the cash readily available.
Now, back to the Lakers. It doesn't look like Lamar Odom is going to be back, nor does he want to be back. They already lost Ariza, now they are facing the strong possibility of losing Odom, will Artest be enough to keep them at a championship level? We still have to wait and see what happens with Odom, but the Lakers, yet again, are an NBA Soap Opera.
