I was worried about this one. We have been playing great ball in our first four games, no question. We beat Cleveland in a marquee matchup, then we returned home for three games. The New Orleans game got a little close but it wasn't anything our defense couldn't handle. But we were at the Garden, could we do it away from home?
We got out answer, Celtics blew out Philadelphia, 105-74. This is an old rivalry and don't think the Sixers don't know this. Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand are trying to make the Sixers competitive and get a title, they wanted this win. At the end of the game, they weren't even close.
For the first time ths season, Rondo didn't have double-digit assists. Kevin Garnett only had three points but it is at the point his contributions aren't on the stat sheet. Shelden Williams scored in double digits again, going for 11 and 7 rebounds. Lester Hudson was 2-2 from 3, the only points he had, but showing some good signs early in his career.
One good thing is last year we were a team that was essentially it's starting lineup. I saw games where the bench cleared and it couldn't hold a lead and the starting lineup had to come back in. Now the bench can even extend our lead.
Next we head to Minnesota, a team in disarray and trying to find it's identity, but still can beat this Boston Celtic ballclub.
The secret is getting out that we're for real and now we're going to have a big target on our back, teams are going to be gunning for us, will Minnesota be successful?
